Hello wisers,
We are testing a system which is developed on top of Oracle 9iAS. The
client PCs are using Internet Explorer to access the system. We are
sure that the Oracle 9i database server is set to use Unicode. The
Oracle 9i database server and Oracle 9iAS server are now running on
English Windows 2000 server. With client PCs running on traditional
Chinese Windows 2000 or traditional Chinese Windows XP, via Internet
Explorer we put...

Hello,
I use Unicode in my program to enter data in Chinese into a nvarchar field.
When inserting or updating records, my application does not use Unicode
escape sequences but rather the Unicode characters themselves. Thus, my app
may have SQL statements like:
UPDATE table SET field1 = '<some string in Chinese>';
The syntax above works both in my app and through SQL Server Enterprise

Hi,
I am currently facing difficulty displaying chinese, japanese, russian
etc. characters. I am using VB 6 and ADO to query the DB2 Version 7.2
unicode database (UTF-8). The resultset that comes back contains
garbage characters for Chinese, Russian etc languages. The english
characters come back fine using ADO.
It seems that DB2 assumes that my application is NOT Unicode
compliant.

Hi
I create a simple win32 project (VC2003, windows2003(English) ,
and do simple paint in WM_PAINT message, when the project use
multi-character set, it is OK.
but when I change to UNICODE, some Chinese characters are illegible( I see
sizeof(TCHAR)=2 being displayed). Your idea is welcome.
case WM_PAINT:
hdc = BeginPaint(hWnd, &ps);

Hello,
I'm writing an class library that I imagine people from different countries
might be interested in using, so I'm considering what needs to be provided
to support foreign languages, including asian languages (chinese, japanese,
korean, etc).
First of all, strings will be passed to my class methods, some of which
based on the language (and on the encoding) might contain characters that
require more that a single byte.

Hello everybody,
since days i try to convert Unicode-Strings in VB.NET to ANSI which should
be processable in VB6 and converted to unicode again.
It should be possible with any codepage, e.g. somebody on a greek PC should
be able to handle chinese strings
-------------- VB.NET ----------------
'On the vb.net side (I am pretty sure, it is correct(?))
Dim oEncoderAnsi As System.Text.Encoding

Hello everyone,
Wide character and multi-byte character are two popular encoding schemes on
Windows. And wide character is using unicode encoding scheme. But each time I
feel confused when talking with another team -- codepage -- at the same time.
I am more confused when I saw sometimes we need codepage parameter for wide
character conversion, and sometimes we do not need for conversion. Here are
two examples,

OK I have some Chinese text in sql server column that looks like this:
12å¤§ä¸“é¢˜è°ƒç ”ç ´è§£å¹¿ä¸œç§‘å¦å‘展难题
This is unicode? Anyway, I put this data into a text area like this:
articleArea.InnerHtml = article.Text . . ..
and it works fine (shows chinese characters). But when I put this data into
a asp:textbox control, it just shows up as is... (12大&# etc...)
Can anyone tell me how to get the characters to appear...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
