We'll need a little more information than that:
Database type and version
The code you used to generate the error.
If it's an Access database, this may be relevant: http://www.aspfaq.com/show.asp?id=2062
But the error message is puzzling.
You should not be using a recordset to modify your data. You should be using
SQL DML statements (UPDATE, INSERT and DELETE), preferably encapsulated in
stored procedures or saved parameter queries. see these links to see how
