Get and Set Values of Child controls on Formview

PW
I wish to get and set values on child controls on a formview.

For example. Changing the text in textbox. Hiding or unhiding child
controls based on user. Replacing a blank with a default or calculated value
that will need to be generated at runtime.

It seems as though this should be thoroughly documented, but I'm not finding
much.

Thanks.

This newsgroup covers classic asp, which is a totally different
technology to asp.net. You should try
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.framew ork.aspnet.

I'm working on an ASP.Net web app using VS2005 and the .Net 2.0 framework, and I have a serious problem with the page I'm currently working on. The page has, among other things, two FormViews and a GridView control, each with its own SqlDataSource. FormView1 talks to my Opportunity table and has an ItemTemplate and an EditItemTemplate. FormView2 talks to my Activities table and has an ItemTemplate, InsertItemTemplate and an...

How can you tell which FormView controls have different values from their initial values when the page was loaded? If the user clicked the submit button on the EditItemTemplate and no controls have truly changed values, then we don't have to update the database. -- Thank you kindly, Dan Sikorsky BA, BSCE, MCS

I have a parent page with a gridview, and a child page with a formview. Using the solution on velocityreviews: http://www.velocityreviews.com/forums/t80654-solution-raising-an-event-handler-postback-on-parent-window-from-popup-child-window-dialog-box.html I was able to create the Parent and Child Window custom controls and get them to work correctly so that I could select a row in the GridView of the parent page and popup a child...

Hi all, I'm having an issue that's driving me crazy. I have a datatable that I need to display all the information for on a page. So, instead of manually coding every single column to a label, I decided it would be easier and safer to use a formview to display it all, bound to an objectdatasource. Sounds simple enough. The problem is that many of my fields could potentially have null values, which produces an error similar to the...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
