Server object totally broken

Any code that accesses the Server object appears to break, such as:
Set conn = Server.CreateOb ject("ADODB.Con nection")
OR
Response.Write( Server.ScriptTi meout & " seconds")

Thanks

Paul

A quick question...apologies if this isn't really the right group for this, it's not always obvious from the ng listings which one to start with... I'm developing a web site using a 3rd party server side DLL (COM object? not 100% sure of the terminology here). I've developed a prototype in VB and now that I have my business rules clear and I'm familiar with the interface, I've started to translate this into ASP. However, I'm developing...

Hello: I wrote a vb6 "client-side" ActiveX Component that will extract the user's network login. Now I want to be able to do some server-side work with this info, and it would be great if I could put the user's network login into a session variable but serverside-code is executed first .... My objective is for, each time (or the first time) our intranet users access the intranet's web page, it call the activeX which pull their user name...

Hi, I am using .net remoting technology. I set up a .net remoting client and server in IIS. When the client calls the server, the server will run a long duration method (30-60seconds). I have a test on it that if the network broken at the time the client have already send the remoting request and waiting for the server, the client side will wait infinitely by default, even if i already set the executionTimeout to 90seconds in...

I am a bit confused about the meaning of object files (.o). I read this in a make file: lotto: main.o init.o select.o sort.o display.o gcc main.o init.o select.o sort.o display.o -o lotto main.o: main.c lotto.h gcc -c main.c

Any comments on the correctness of the statements 1, 2a, 2b, 3 and 4 in the code below? If they are correct, then the definition of an object as well as that of an lvalue is broken in C99 by the following reasoning: foo() does not return an object, so the return of foo() conceptually is not stored, yet we are able to obtain a pointer to one of its member elements, therefore it must be stored, therefore foo() does return an object,...

I've got an access97 reporting mdb that pulls data (77,000 rows) from a sql server table into a local table to run reports if the local table is part of the reporting MDB, the insert statement (16 fields) takes less than 30secs, but because of db-bloat, I moved the local table to a 2nd MDB and per postings, this 2nd MDB is copied into a folder and linked as a 'temp' MDB every time I run my reporting mdb

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
