Does anyone see any problem with the loading a SqlConnection into the
System.Web.HttpContextCurrent.Items collection in a Page's Constructor. Then
Closing and Disposing of it the OnUnload method?

the characteristics of the connection? for instance, whether it's running
through a proxy, what the connection speed is, etc?

How can I look on the server and see how many connections are being used by
my application? I am pretty sure that my application must be leaving
connections open, because I begin to receive error message indicating that
the system can not open a connection and I should check my connection pool,
with me being the only one on the server, this should not really be a

I ended up going down the interfaces path and actually got that working
fairly well, but, then, in the end, decided that was overkill and that it
would perhaps make more sense to start over using a much more simpler
communication between pages.

When using a connection pooling (every time I open the OLEDBCONNECTION I use
the exact matching connection string),
1. how can I know how many connection has been used ?
2. If the maximum pool size has been reached, what happens when I call the
method Open to open the connection ? Will I get an error ? MSDN says the

I am consuming continously my own web-services on a localhost client with a
rate of perhaps 35 request/response-pairs a minute.
I am using "invoke-id=1", so there is at the same time only one request
pending.
After a runtime of 4 days I get the system.net.exception "The underlying

How does this connection pool function actually ?
As I have been told is that when the connection is returned to the pool
the connection to the database is still open. What you do is that you just
return a still open connection to the pool.
When I open a connection I get an already open connection to the database.
