need to terminate idle ASP sessions before they timeout

Is there a way for an administrator to terminate ASP sessions if I know the
ASP Session IDs that I want to terminate?
Session.Abandon only works on the caller's session.
Is there something like Session.Kill(Se ssionID) ?

not really. He can kill the whole thing (recycle the IIS service), wait till
they timeout, or kill the process in Task Manager (but I think the are all
under the same process with ASP and pre-IIS6)

Hello, I posted a simular question in the "IIS Security" group but it think it is more usefull to post it here. I want to do something very simpel. Make a part of my website available only for users with a username and password. The site is mainly ASP based. The webserver is an IIS6 and I do NOT have access to server settings (session timeout, security,...).

I'm just getting up to speed on Application Pools in IIS6 and I'm wondering if there would be any good reason to stick with the default value of for the Idle Timeout value for Worker processes (found in IIS Manager, Worker Pool Properties | Performance tab). I'm thinking about setting it to something much higher - like close to 24 hours - so that the Web sites on my server don't incur the delay when first requested after an idle timeout...

I am supposed to implement a web app in C#/.NET and it needs to be installed on the customer's server and ran from anywhere. The problem is this software needs to be licensed by user (i.e. they buy 2 licenses, only 2 sessions should be open at a time). I can currently see how many sessions are active, but I need a way to tighten this up where when they close their browser it frees up a session and it also can run long queries so it would...

DB2 UDB V8.2 on AIX. Is there a db2 command/function to terminate a single idle agents from the agent pool. I could kill -9 the process but I was wonder if there was a more graceful or appropriate way to do this. I did not see an API call like sqleEndCtx that could perminently remove the agent and clean up memory. Any ideas?

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
