number of maximum connections when Apache is used as a proxy

54 New Member
Hi,

I`m using apache as a proxy to solve cross domain security restriction of javascript. The client sends AJAX requests to a JAVA based jabber server and the Apache serves as a proxy so the javascript and the jabber server will think they are in the same domain.

The jabber server works as follows (http-binding):
It gets an 'update' AJAX request from the client but keep the connection open until it has a new message for the client. Then the client sends a new 'update' request.

I know that Apache has a limit on the number of connection it can handle. If it serves as a proxy will the Apache connection be opened only for the time it takes to proxy the request - milliseconds or all the time the connection is open -minutes?

Thanks

Newbie here. I've got my database set up in SQL 2000, and have started an Access adp for a front end. I have 10 licenses, and at the moment the only accesses are the server through Remote Desktop and one person into the ADP. I started getting ODBC timeout errors when running a complex query, so I started poking around. In the logs there's messages saying the maximum of 10 user connections has been reached, over and over again. I'm...

Basically we have a web method with a dynamic URL. The client is developed in C++ and I've been using the webReference.SetUrl( "http://test.example.com..." ) method successfully with various web method URLs. However, when we switched to using a secure connection, the call to webReference.SetUrl( "https://test.example.com..." ) no longer functions. The SetUrl() method is actually successful, but any following calls in to the web...

My problem: I need to call (from C code) an arbitrary C library function, but I don't know until runtime what the function name is, how many parameters are required, and what the parameters are. I can use dlopen/whatever to convert the function name into a pointer to that function, but actually calling it, with the right number of parameters, isn't easy. As far as I can see, there are only two solutions: 1) This one is portable. If...

Hi all, We have a webservice (service1), which calls another webservice(service2) from another orginization. Our end users make requests throught service1. When service2 receives a quest, it puts all the request information into a database. The request will be picked up from a sheduler which is installed in 8 different servers. The response is very slow if we have many requests.

I've installed a fresh DB2 V9.1 server (Express-C). Now I see, that the number of applications (db2 list applications) is growing all the times when a script is run which makes some database operations. This is on Linux. I tested the same script against an older DB2 V7 on AIX and the number of applications (db2bp) is growing by one, but then the db2bp disappears, so the number of applications is not growing all the time. Here is the...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
