managing(config uring) apache webserver

3 New Member
I have found an application named "webmin", of course it has adifferent naming under Linux, that I don't know which is better to use, that manages webservers
I don't know how good is this or how to run the webservers, I'm trying to get a ruby webserver I couldn't make it run properly, actually it doesn't want to run rather than everything seems alright
and I don't know how to check rails, still it doesn't want to run
also freeride, it seems there is something basic that's wrong
if anyone get a clue please let me know and I'll be thankful

I am running Microsoft SQL Server 2000 - 8.00.760 Enterprise Edition on Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition (NT 5.2 Build 3790:) I have 4CPU and 8GB of RAM. I have AWE enabled, /pae /3gb switch is on in boot.ini, In my errorlog I have noticed few times error messages as "The SQL Server cannot obtain a LOCK resource at this time. Rerun your statement when there are fewer active users or ask the system administrator to check the SQL Server lock...

Hello web folks... I've been desigining web pages for 13 years using my trusty text editor (UltraEdit) and in depth knowledge of HTML. I'm truly a text editor ninja at this point. I am frequently using regular expressions to search and replace in multiple files. I also use many different copy buffers and know all the keyboard shortcuts like the back of my hand. The point is... it's comfortable. Unfortunately, it's become just too...

Hi, I have built a web application that will be a very high profile application. We had tested it, demonstrated it and shown that it all works. On a dress rehearsal run through, it failed spectacularly. I was so embarrassed and felt like killing the person that made it fail. However, when it goes live, IT MUST NOT FAIL. The system has a backoffice system that takes an excel spreadsheet from the

Let's talk about the problem I really want help with. I brought up a proposal earlier, but it was only half serious. I realize Python is too sacred to accept such a heretical change. ;-) Here's the real problem: maintaining import statements when moving sizable blocks of code between modules is hairy and error prone. I move major code sections almost every day. I'm constantly restructuring the code to make it clearer and simpler, to...

Hi, I'm searching for a document managing system for several users. I want to save Word-DOCs and Adobe-PDFs and do full text searches on them? Also, it should be an open source project. Does anybody know of such an open source project? Many thanks! Steven

Our site, of which about half the content is PHP pages and is on a Linux Apache server, is currently administered with Microsoft FrontPage 2003. Okay, now that you've finished laughing, let me just say it's worked pretty darn well considering everyone says "you gotta be crazy to have FrontPage and PHP/Apache". But the writing is on the wall, considering Frontpage is discontinued, is designed for simpler sites, and there are so many...

Hello to everyone, I have a problem of managing a session with cookies and "session_set_save_handler()". I want to use php's built-in session management mechanism with user-level session storage functions to store session data on the client in cookies. The simple implementation that I have works well under PHP 5.2.0 , Apache 2.0.54 and WinXP.

I have a lamp webserver that I'd like to simplify managing. This has webmin, but webmin is so inscrutable that it is easier to manage this through an SSH shell, which I'm hardly proficient at. My needs are simple add a domain to apache.conf, create a mysql database and user, setup a postgress (I think) email account and add an FTP user and set some permissions and owners along the way. So, what is the difference between system, exec,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
