Possible to filter criteria where a custom formula is in the Field in the query?

P: 223
I have a query that I am calculating margin. I put this in the "Field:"
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Margin: ([QS36F_PARTSSERV]![Sell]-[QS36F_PARTSSERV]![Cost])/[QS36F_PARTSSERV]![Sell]
When I put anything in the criteria I get: ....Data conversion or data mapping error. I guess i need to filter in the Field with the formula up there? See attachment? I wanted to show anything > than 24.4 or 0.244. Help?

You may want to help us out by letting us know what [BD_PRC] and [BD_AVN] represent.

Are you saying you never get the same errors when the criteria isn't there?

When criteria are included the formula is resolved at an earlier point in the processing of the query. It may be that what is in your formula isn't available at that point in the process.

I get that same error when I try and put something under criteria in design.

That wasn't actually the question, but never mind.

I suspect my earlier post should point you to where you need to look. We can't help at this point as you haven't shared where the data comes from, or indeed the whole query.

You should have enough to understand why it's happening though.
