Different Language Windows Asc() and AscW() (ARABIC LANGUAGE)

5 New Member
I have English/Arabic windows at HOME and ms office 2003 access arabic enabled.
Please refer to your link below which resolved by the W option asc() and ascW():
http://bytes.com/topic/visual-basic-...nguage-windows
My problem still persists.
I have WindowsXP professional sp3 and MS Access 2003.
My Code doesnt recognize difference between asc() and ascW()
values. asc(MyWord) is similar to ascW(myword) for Arabic.
In my office it works fine but at home it doesnt work.
Please give me a solution.
Thanks.

Syed, you don't explain what your problem actually is.

There is no reason I know of why anyone would expect the returned values of Asc() and AscW() to be different. They can be, certainly, but they are not necessarily so.

Unless, of course, you know the values that should be returned and they are not as expected. In that case, of course, leaving that information out of the question would not be helpful.

is the EXACT same Windows OS installed on each...
Not Windows-XP-Pro and work and then Windows-XP-MCE-SP3 at home.

Second, you have not provided an exact example of the issue.
I can not duplicate your problems as I have:
1) English only
2) WinXP3-Pro at home
3) Win7 Enterprise at work
4) OFFICE-2010(32) at both.

See what were saying now about lack of detail?

Not only should you state you own problem/question clearly, but you should also read what has also been written to assist you.

Your further comments seem to indicate that you haven't read what I posted earlier. Of course that could simply be a problem with the language, but I'm afraid there's little I can do there to help if you're unable to grasp the points I'm trying to express. I'm good in English but have no Arabic at all :-(

I found the following:
If the word is Arabic, its like this: ÓíÏ ÝíÕá ÍÈíÈ"
In English: syed faisal habib

Please do not worry about the image if all it does is duplicate what you've already typed.
The text is usually preferable. (^_^)
