When exporting a table to text using DoCmd, some fields disappear.

DoCmd.TransferText acExportFixed, "CATI_export", "EIN_char", "c:\ein_revised.txt", False

Fields are showing data in the Table (EIN_char), and the export selects all the fields in the table. Most fields come across, but a few are missing or replaced with blanks (spacing is correct). The fields are Text on the table. Any ideas why some fields come across as blank when they are not blank on the MS table? Also, if I use the same Spec (CATI_export) and export "manually," then it works fine (no blanks). It is only when I use the DoCmd that I get blanks, but I can't figure out what is wrong with the command.

Maybe this feature is already out there. I guess you could write triggers to do some of this. Often when designing a database I add a start_date and end_date column to the table. The start_date...
