Save an embedded worksheet from a bound object

91 New Member
I have a bound object on a form that is "embedded" to an OLE field on the table.

If I have it linked, when I double click a field on the spreadsheet it opens excel, I can type text in a field, then save and close. When I refresh the form it will show up there, and it saves to the original file.

If I have it embedded, I can double click and edit the field right inside access, but when I save it it doesn't save back to the file. It seems that if I open and close it the data is still there, but where is it stored if it doesnt go back to the file?

Ultimately I would like to have it editable inside access, but as long as it saves all the data every time, I cant have any data lost.

It saves it in the OLE field of your table. There is no link from there to the original spreadsheet file, but it does save changes when they're made (as you've noticed).

I don't think so. I guess we're talking at cross-purposes here as that's not something I thought I said, or even implied.
