ordering records in a subform by date with most recent first

56 New Member
Hi,

I would like to order the records in a subform frmSub by the field 'ReferralDate' (short date) so that the most recent record appears first. I'm sure this must be fairly simple but I can't get it.

thanks
Lucie

You should be able to set this as part of the SQL for the Record Source for the subform. What is the record source now?

Easisest way is to set the ORDERBY property of the subform to your field name. OrderBY Onlaod should be set to YES.

cheers,

I tried to put something in the Order by property but couldn't get the syntax right - can you give me an example?

Yep, that's done it - SQL statement to pull in all fields from associated table (tblClientDetails) sorted by 'ReferralDate' in descending order.

so simple - cheers!
