Subform not linking to main form

1 New Member
Hello, I really need some help.
I have a main form in Access 2000, with a subform, some of the fields in the subform are not saving to the table.
When I search the Main form for the information, the subform appears to not have the info. but when I look at the table on the back end, some of the data is there and some is not.
I am pretty new to Access and I cannot figure out why the subform is not saving all the info. and why it appears to NOT be linked on all fields.

Any thoughts?

Hi. I suspect that you may have a mix of bound and unbound controls on your subform. Unbound controls are not linked to underlying fields of the table concerned. As their Control Source property is not set the values entered into them are not stored in any record created by the use of the subform.

This can happen if you place controls on the subform yourself without dragging them from the field list, or if you replace existing controls with others (a textbox with a combo box, say) without setting the control source property.

If you enter a value into an unbound textbox on a subform all occurrences of that control in the record list will show the same value for all the records. Change it and it appears to change everywhere else as well. That would be a sure sign that unbound controls are on the subform.
