Why is Access 2007 so slow?

So I developed this nice small database. 7.5 Mb is not exactly big. On Access 2003 it runs like a breeze. But on Access 2007 it seems to "run" slow motion. I decompiled and compiled it back on Access 2007. It continues irritatingly slow. Oh, and the size grew to 9.3 Mb. So I copied all content in a brand new 2007 database, compiled it and then ran: ms access /decompile. Compiled it again but it's still about 1.5 Mb bigger than when doing the same proceedure on MS Access 2003. Anything I can do about this?

Hi Eric,
You need to review the link and see if there are any items on the list that apply to you and correct. Hopefully, in the review process something will stand out as an incompatibility or bug that you can fix and be up to speed.

Thanks puppydogbuddy,

I read the content of the link. Nothing stood out that I thought, this can be it. Actually, I don't like the look and feel of Access 2007 at all. Or all Office 2007 components for that matter. It looks bloated and I hate the colors. If only it could be made to look like Office 2003.

Take care,

Eric

Eric,
Here is another link on what slows Access down in general, with a special section on Access 2007.

I think I found out the reason : "Keyboard Language" property of the field should be set to "System".

This is what I tried, and "YES" the speed is just fine!

Please spread the word, I have been chasing this for almost a "Year"now!

Good luck

To clarify Harounhdbdb comment:
In design view of a form, for each field, Harounhdbdb has appeared to have found that by leaving the default value of "System" for the Keyboard language property has helped to improve his speed.
