Moving and renaming pdf file directory by using Access Database

24 New Member
Hey

I must do the News Storage database. It sounds pretty easy but there is one point I don't know how to do.
When I download the news file and save it in .pdf. I have database that records all news and group it. then I want to store the file in appropriate folder (according to the issue) by using Access.

For example - I record the news about England winning the Rugby semi-final. Then I want the file with the news to move to the folder "Sports" and to change it name automatically, so the name will contain name of "Information type" and name of "Region." I want to make it in database form, so that I dont have to do it manually.
Is it possible to do that? If so, how?

How will the database know what group an article falls under?

Actually it will be recorded under certain group (f.ex. information type, source).
But what I want to do is to move the file with the news to the directory f.ex. database\2007\Q4\

So when I record the news in the database, the source file (pdf with the news), moves to that directory.

This will move a file:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Private Sub Form_Load()
  2.     Dim fs
  3.     Set fs = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
  4.     fs.MoveFile "C:\Test.txt", "C:\Data\Test.txt"
  5. End Sub
