find record button searches form, not table

i feel like this is a doofus question... but i've created an access form and added a find record button, but when i use the form, the find record button searches the form itself, not the table. all the other buttons [e.g.: previous & next record, add record, etc.] work, so i believe the form is linked to the table. how can i get the find record button to search the table, not the form itself?

Here is a link to a module created by Allen Browne that finds a specific record as you type the string into a search box. I have it in a few databases and users really seem to like it.

Hope that helps.

Brad.
