Slow Down

74 New Member
Question. I am currently running Access with one to seven people on it at any given time. We are tracking alot of information from. however the system is starting to slow down. I have indexed several items and have moved most all the macros to VBA...

What else can i do to speed this up? it is saved as an MDE and slpit data base.
would going to some sort of server be the solution?

If the database is split front-end/back-end and the front-end is an mde you shouldn't be getting this kind of slow down. Are you running compact and repair on a regular basis?

Ya probably a few times a week. My front end is 103,620 KB and my back end is 7,620 KB. I'm not sure if this is big or not? I only have expreiance working with this data base.

No 103 is average. You would have to be hitting upwards of 2 GB to be having problems.

What version of Access are you using? Could the problem be with the Network?

Without seeing the actual application there is no way to know for sure but you can have up to 255 concurrent users so you shouldn't be having a problem.
