Odd datatype problem when using ADODB recordset

Hello gurus.

I have a function that queries our mainframe using an ADODB ODBC
connection via a SELECT database.

One of the fields is Premium. When I query this data via something
like query anayler or MSquery, the data value read $6,690.00 for
example.

However, the access recordset value - for that same record - is
reading something like 6.69 - obviously a huge difference.

Note that I am not putting this value in a variable. I am simply
doing a debug.Print rs(1) statement and getting that odd value.

I would think the recordset value straightup should equal the value
when I query using other tools?

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks
Brian
