Append Statement with VB

36 New Member
Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to find a way to enter multiple records in a form and have the data transfer to either a Table in Access, or an Excel Spreadsheet. Since the Output statement I was using kept overwriting my data, I figured an append statement was the best way to go. The problem being, I can't seem to find a coding format for append statements anywhere. Could anyone show me where to look?

Thanks,
Tiffany

It varies from version to version, but if you select Help from the main Access window and select Microsoft Access Help, you can navigate (in the Contents tab) to a main topic similar to "Microsoft Jet SQL Reference". You should be looking for the "INSERT INTO statement" within "Data Manipulation Language".
Let me know if you need more specific instructions or if this doesn't work for your version.

Wow, I asked at least a dozen people in my office and none of them were able to tell me. Thank you so much!

Not a problem :)
I found it myself after many years of thinking it wasn't there it was so unobvious.
Besides, what do you expect from an Access Expert site ;)

Good luck.
