Hi all..

I have a sql statement like this :

String query ="Select GL.GLDescription AS Expense," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.ECFAmount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=1 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Jan," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=2 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Feb," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=3 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Mar," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=4 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Apr," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=5 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS May," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=6 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Jun," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=7 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Jul," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=8 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Aug," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=9 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Sept," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=10 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Oct," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=11 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Nov," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where month(Transaction.Date)=12 AND GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Dec," +
"(Select SUM(Transaction.Amount) From Transaction Where GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode) AS Total" +
"INTO Empexpense" +
"FROM GL, Transaction" +
"Where GL.GLCode=Transaction.GLCode AND Transaction.EmployeeNumber=" + empID +
"GROUP BY GL.GLCode";

I get an sql error after running this statement.

"java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The SELECT statement includes a reserved word or an argument name that is misspelled or missing, or the punctuation is incorrect."

Pls help me clarify what might be the problem?

Thanks in advance

Try chopping out various of the lines until you find a much smaller version that exhibits your problem.
This will probably help you to understand the problem yourself anyway.
If not, repaste the new, much smaller SQL code in here within the code tags and formatted to be visible within the space available (That means not just one long line of SQL) and we'll see what we can do for you.
