Next contact date in Access contact management

Hi Guys

I just found this forum by chance whilst trying to find an answer to my question so I hope it's OK to just come on here and ask a question?

I want to start using a simple contact management database and have used the wizard on my Access 97 to create one and have also downloaded a similar one from MS online office.

They would both do the job well apart from the fact that I can find no way of putting in a next contact date. e.g. I need to phone John Smith on Jan 12th 2007 and it automatically flags this up like tasks in Outlook or justs lets me see any calls due for that day.

My question then for all you guys who are no doubt a hell of lot smarter with computers than I am is; is it possible to add a "next contact date" function to the standard MS Access contact management template or is it possible to link it to the task function in Outlook.

I would be really grateful for any help or suggestions with the above or even a recomendation of another way of achieving the same thing.

Many thanks in advance for any suggestions you can make!

Regards

Graham

There is no next date function, although this can be simulated. You have to use the DateAdd function. This takes an interval and adds it a date. Here is an example.

=DateAdd("m",[Interval],[MyDate]) This is in the control source of a text box. You specify the interval and date. In this example it is adding x number of months(interval) and adding it to the date field. Have a look at the help for more examples
