Creating a new column

I'm using MS Office 2000. I have a small database using Access which consists of
only two columns. I'd like to add a third column to the right. It would be the
third column. All I can seem to insert is a column to the extreme left (first
colum) or one in the middle. The help files tell me that the column will be
inserted to the left of the cursor placement. I can't put the curson anywhere to
insert a column to the right. Any way to do this? Thanks.

Open your table in design view and add your column there.

Hope that helps!

Thanks I'll try it. I don't have a lot of experience with Access. Just enough to
do some basic databases for my CD's, DVD's, etc.

....Be aware that a relational database doesn't care at all about column
order. The order that columns are created or sequenced in design view
and the order that they are displayed in datasheet view in Access are
completely independent of one another.

In Access datasheet view, to switch the displayed order of columns,
just click on the column header and drag the column to the desired
display position.

I just added the column in Design View as previously suggested. But thanks for
your reply. In fact, I actually tried just what you mentioned, click and drag,
before I posted the original question. I figured, it's Windows, so click and
drag. Didn't work for me for some reason. Any special trick in doing it for
future reference? Thanks again.
