populating a sub form with data

P: n/a
I have a main form that people are putting name and address etc in.
Now I need to put some unbound fields on the sub forms to display this
data to them.
Its fine on current records but on a new record nothing fires on the
sub forms to populate these fields with the data.

current, on active etc..

how can I get the fields to populate on a new record when they get to
the tab.

thanks big time I am sure that it is something simple but I just don't
see it.
