coloured lines of alist box

Hi all, hope you can help,
I need some sort a list box that whereby I can shade in the rows in
different colours (red, green and amber traffic light colours to
indicate priority).
Please can you tell me what I could use to achieve this on an Access
form.

Cannot be done with the standard ListBox control. Your best bet is to use a
Subform designed to resemble a ListBox. You would be able to use Conditional
Formatting to create the "priority" shading scheme as indicated.

I've found an active x control from
http://www.zealsoft.com/checklistbox/review.html
I'm going to look into using that but so far I've fallen at the first
hurdle and can't figure out how to populate the object with my
recordset.
any ideas?
PS. Is there a downside to using active x stuff like this?
