Learn SQL?

I have held various jobs over the last 4-5 years in Access development.
I think it's time to expand my skillset and learn SQL server. I would
also like to eventually become earn the MCDBA certification. My
question is what is the best way to learn SQL server and could I do it
without the expense of buying my own server? Could I get by with
learning on SQL 2005 express or standard which runs on XP or would I
realistically need the Enterprise version which requires a server OS?
Furthermore, will I learn enough on the lesser versions to pass the
MCDBA

I'd guess an SQL Server newsgroup would be a better place to ask SQL Server
questions of this kind, rather than one dedicated to Microsoft Access.
