Access 2003 crashing while creating a drop down list

Hello

I am working with Access 2003. When I click on the drop down list tool.
Access crashes. Get the error message that "the constant you entered is
not valid". No matter what db I work with, no matter if the form is
blank or not. I have searched in vain MS and google. Reinstalled Office
2003. Still zippo.

Anyone have any ideas.

Go to microsoft.com, and from the left menu choose Microsoft Update.
After all updates are installed, try again.
If that doesn't help, I would rebuild the machine. At least that takes
a known quantity of time.
