TabOrder changing randomly on tab control

Hi

I stumbled over a strange problem in A2K concerning the Tab Order of 60
textboxes placed on a tab control: whenever I change the TabIndex of any
one of these textboxes the other 59 change there TabIndex RANDOMLY (I do
know about the renumbering mechanism, that supports you to arrange the
TabOrder).

Using Auto Order works, but this arranges the text boxes first priority in
a L->R order, while I need them T->B

Using cut/paste and moving the textboxes to the main form makes this
strange behaviour disapear. This means, I can arrange them on the main
from in the order I want. But as soon as cut/paste them back to the tab
control they get arrangend randomly again.

I even wrote a some basic code to do the needed sorting. It works fine
when I place the textboxes on the main form, but a soon as the text boxex
are situated on the tab control they show the random beaviour again.

I decomiled and compacted the database. No improvement.

I exported the form to an other database, renamed the original and
reimported the form. No improvement.

Any idea how I can solve this problem?

Walt
P.S.
My next idea: 'transpose' the textboxes with code (L->R becomes T->B; T->B
becomes L->R), apply AutoOrder, and transpose back to the original
location again.
But I hope someone knows the reason and a faster fix for this problem...

Hi Phil

Thanks for your advice. I was so deep in my ideas, that I forgot to
mention the obvious. Yes, it is possible to change the Tab Order by means
of View-->Tab Order. And to be complete, it is not possible by entering
numbers into the fields properties.

However with 60 fields it's quite time consuming. If I do need to redo
htis again, it would be great top have it done by code. I hoped someone
would know a workaround to solve the problem.

Thanks, Walt
