ADP - Slow Response --

I am developing an ADP on my local server with Office 2003 and MSDE 2000.

Frequently, when I try to change from Form View to Design View or Design
View to Form view, the entire application stall for up to 30 seconds.

The machine is a Celeron 1.7 with 384 megs of RAM.

The app is still pretty basic so I don't understand why I'm having a
performance problem.

Are there any peculiar performance issues related to an ADP?

Is client and server on same machine? I've seen particular queries that
run fine on a separate server but hang and timeout when both client and
server is on the same machine, and I'm talking a simple update query for
1 record. Never really got to the bottom of it as neither client or
server were utilising the CPU and there wasn't much in the way of disk
activity either. Try on a separate server and see how it fairs.
