The duplicate autonumbers bug was fixed in one of the JET service packs. To
prevent it recurring, go to
http://support.microsoft.com, the Downloads
section, and get the JET 4 Service Pack 8.
To fix the problem with the existing data, see:
Fixing AutoNumbers when Access assigns negatives or duplicates
at:
http://members.iinet.net.au/~allenbrowne/ser-40.html
The utility code resets the Seed of the AutoNumber to the correct value for
all affected tables.

I have a problem with a database of concerts, where I recently tried to
change the existing database with some new rows/categories and some new
names on a few of the existing ones. I have an id field that is
"autonumber", and this has become my problem. The original database had
listed 54 concerts, with unique ID's. Now, the ID autonumber section has
started to count from 1 again, and I can't register anything new in the
database because the ID won't be unique anymore.
How can I fix this? I've put a lot of work into this database, and I
really don't want to register all of it over again!
Thanks in advance!
