Access 2000 - Field Color Changes

I am trying to create a situation where if a Control is = to a specific
value i.e. dog. other controls are blacked out and can not be viewed.
How is this done?

For just a few controls?
In single form view, code the Form's Current event, as well as the
[Control1] AfterUpdate event:

If [Control1] = Criteria Then
[Control2].Visible = False
[Control3].Visible = False
etc.
Else
[Control2].Visible = True
[Control3].Visible = True
Etc.
End If
