database sharing help

How can one share tables over local net where one can read and write to
them and others can only read.

basically I am unfamiliar with sharing set-up with users, admin etc.
Something simple, only 2 users involved.

Thanks.

There are a couple of ways to do this.

1) Create 2 front-end databases, set the forms' dataset type to Snap Shot
instead of Dynaset for all of the forms in the front-end given to the read
only users. This will make them read only.

2) Set up User Level Security. This will require creating and mdw
(workgroup) file for the database. Set the permissions for the users as
desired. The users will need to log on with a user name and password.
