These are rather general requirements, one could only provide a general
answer.
Create a new query, add the fields you wnat to include such as Name and
Course.
Turn on Totals by choosing "Totals" from the View Menu.
In the bottom of the query window, choose Count in the Totals line of the
Name Field, and leave Group By in the Course Field.
If you leave it at that and run the query, you will return a Count of names
for each course in the table (only one record line for each course). If you
only want a specific course, specify it in the Criteria lines of the query
design grid.
Save the query and close it.
Use the Form Wizard to create the desired style of form, basing it on the
query you just created.
Done.
