Field can't be updated

P: n/a
I'm using Visual Basic 6 (DataGrid) as front end and MS Access 97 as
back end.

I have run into the problem that when I try to insert a record that is
already there causing a duplicate from my primary key. I get an error
message.

I want to change this value to be something else, which should be ok,
but I get "Field can't be updated" message.

Thanks in advance

What do you mean by "change this value to something else"? Do you mean
change the primary key?

Say Vehicle Type is the Primary Key and I currently have records:
Car
Truck
Van

I go to enter a new record and I enter Car..ooops car is already
there, let's change it to SUV..I get Field can't be updated.

Thanks
Julie
