Missing Link Properties For Report and Subreport

I am trying to use an existing report as a subreport in another report. I
have the subreport added to the main report, but the only thing that shows
up where the subreport should be is the name of the subreport. In reading
the Access help files, it sounds like there should be LinkChildFields and
LinkMasterFields proprties in the propert sheet for the subreport. However,
neither of these properties are there for the subreport.. I used the wizard
to add the subreport, so I would assume that those properties would be set
correctly, but the fact that I'm getting no data for the subreport leads me
to believe that the two aren't linked properly.

Can anybody shed some light on my questions?

Thanks.

Strictly speaking, there is no such thing as a "Subreport" in Access --
that's "shorthand" that we use, but confusing, as we use it both for the
Subreport Control and for the Report embedded in the Subreport Control.
LinkMasterFields and LinkChildFields are properties of the Subreport
_Control_ itself, and to select that, you'll have to click on the very outer
edge.

Chances are, if you don't see them, you've selected the Report that is
embedded and Reports don't have those properties.
