Linking Chart to specific data in Access to produce multiple charts

1 New Member
I am not sure if this is possible in Access but I am trying to create MANY individual charts from a very large database. For example, I work in a school system and want to be able to provide each school with a chart of their achievement compared to that of their district's average achievement. I need each individual chart to report both their school's achievement and their district's achievement without 1. showing every school/district and 2. without manually completing a few thousand charts. Is this possible? If so, what steps should I follow? THANK YOU to anyone who can advise.

Appears your question got lost in the shuffle.
It sounds like what you need is a prameter based query.
- Start out with a simple select query that pulls all of the data in that you want to show on your graph/chart.
- Create your graph and set the formating etc...
- Now change your query so that is uses parameter(s) to make the selection (Mr. Browne has one such example Limiting a Report to a Date Range. I'm point you to this example anticipating that you'll need to limit date ranges in addition to the school.)

Best of Luck

Do you all create dedicated data access layers for each project or do you create resuable ones that you can use over many projects. Also, in the data access layer, do you all create specific functions with the sql statements hardcode into each and every function or just make a generic function and pass it different sql statments? Thanks...

Hello all... I'm coming from a Borland Delphi background. Delphi has a specific component called a Data Module. In the designer the Data Module behaves like a windows form. Lets say that I have an application consisting of 3 files. A main.py file, gui.py and a data.py which handles persistent data storage. Suppose data.py defines a class 'MyDB' which reads in data from a database, and main.py creates an instance of this object. How does code in gui.py access this object? Here's simplified pseudocode: MAIN.PY...

I have recently create membership providers for several diferrent databases which has led me down this path of thought. I need to implement a data access layer for several different databases as our users could be using any one of them. I have created several bar charts in MS Access using query results to provide the data for the chart. I added data tables to the charts to show the actual values. My problem is that one of the fields in the data table continues to display a number with several decimal places showing (i.e., 7.120000054). The query field that provides the number...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
