How to make "report view" to appear like "print preview"?

3 New Member
I'm working in a 2002-2003 version of MS Access.

I can't access the command buttons while in the "print preview" format but I can access the command buttons in the "report view" format.

Is there a way to reshape/adjust the "report view" format so that it appears similar to the visual format of "print preview"?

Sorry, no there isn't. Can you tell us what it is you are trying to achieve? We may be able to suggest some alternatives which could help you.

Within a MS Access report, I've added a control button & attached an associated macro to that control button.

As end users view the report, my intent is for them to be able to click on that control button, while in "print preview", to abtain additional info. The issue is that when viewing the report in the "Print Preview" format, the control button is visible, but it is not accessible.

Is there a way to click on that control button while viewing the report in the "Print Preview" format?

No. Print preview is not an interactive mode. I would move the button to whatever selection form opens your report in print preview mode.

Reports are effectively end-products which do not interact with users. Use forms for the interaction, not reports.

When I export xml(and xls) from Access 2003 the result is a complete report in a single page. I would like to get the entire report in a single page (one trip to the server) for printing and scrolling-preview, but with page breaks and page numbering appropriate to the paper size. I have a sense that this can be done in xsl, since xsl...

I created a dynamic report and the fields is displayed base on the query. The report contains about 34 fields so if the query has 34 fields, all 34 fields in the report shows up. But if the query has 10 (which most of them have) fields, the report only shows 10 fields and hides the rest. What happen is that when I go to print preview, its...

Hi there :) I don't know how else to call what I'm currently implementing: An object that behaves like a list but doesn't store it's own items but rather pulls them from a larger list (if they match a certain criterion). Changes to the filter are instantly reflected in the underlying list. Clear enough? Ok, so I figured that this is...

The new tabbed interface in access 2007, has led to one interesting problem. With a report shown in preview mode, and maximized, it just becomes a new tab. The user can click back over to the form, and if they make changes, they expect it to appear in the already previewed report (which it won't). So the question is how to prevent this....

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
