Hi,
another question: What's the most efficient way of copying data between
two file-like objects?
f1.write(f2.read()) doesn't seem to me as efficient as it might be, as a
string containing all the contents of f2 will be created and thrown away.
In the case of two StringIO objects, this means there's a point when the
contents is held in...

Is there any way to add an embedded resource to a project without copying it
to the project's directory? I have shared resources and don't want each
project using the images, xml files, etc. to need to be updated with the
current copy before being built. I also don't want projects being built with
the old copy.
Thanks!

Hi all,
I have converted a database from Access 2003 to Access 97. Everything
gets neatly imported into the new database except for one form which
continues to show a fatal error when I try to open it in the new 97
database:
"Microsoft Access has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience.

I do programming in Access 2000 and 2003. I don't have a copy of 2003
myself, though.
I have read about the adp software that comes with Access 2003, that
converts an application to an access front end with a SQL server
backend. It sounds like a good way for me to begin to learn about SQL
server.
I have thought about just shelling out...

I have a database with about 10 tables, 10 forms related to the 10 tables and likewise 10 reports. The same objects in my 2006 database, 2005, 2004 etc.
I need to make a new database for 2007 using the identical structure.

I am using Access 2003 (on WinXP) to read from an Oracle db, where there is a table with a CLOB which is a variable-size text field. In the 'linked table' which is created in the Tables panel of Access, the CLOB becomes a Memo field. I need to create a report that displays the data from this CLOB in the correct format. The data in the CLOB...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...

These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then...
