Action Failed Error

I have a report which is based on a macro. Macro is serieas of open queries and a single open report query. When I run this report from my switchboard form it gives me the following series of errors.
First it says
"Please wait a moment while queries are run. The report will open automatically.C lick ok to continue.
When I hit "OK", there appears an "Action Failed" dialogue box, which has only one activated button called "Halt", which says the Macro Name
Condition = true
Action Name = Open Query
Arguments:
QueryName, Datasheet, Edit

When I click on Halt, it gives me error like "There was an error executing command"

Please help me where to look to fix this error.

Thanks in advance!!

Reposting your question with more exclamation points is not going to help you. Providing more information, like the contents of your macro, may help.

Just FYI. I reposted because I thought that the experts might not have seen my earlier post. I already reported your answer to the admin for being so rude.

I'm sorry if it came off as rude. Just trying to help.

  1. CHipR wasn't being rude, he was merely pointing out problems with your post
  2. Double posting violates the rules here as well as all other forums. If you feel a thread has moved too far down the queue to receive attention, the proper thing to do id to add a post to your thread, simply saying "bump." This will bring it back up to the top of the queue.
  3. You still haven't provided us with adequate information in order for us to help you.
You also need to take the time to read the Posting Guidelines that apply to this forum, paying special attention to the sections on Double Posting and asking a clearly defined question.

There are various things that would be considered rude Jinal.

Using foul language would be one. Failing to respond when someone has taken the time and effort to reply to a thread you post would be another. Criticism is not in itself rude. I see no rudeness here other than your lack of respect for people's time. You have not even had the courtesy to respond to Linq's post clarifying the situation for your benefit. I really don't see that you are in any position to lecture anyone on their manners after wasting the time of at least three of us, not to mention those others who would have looked into it to check that all was well.

Please ensure that you follow the guidelines in future and post questions that can be answered intelligently.

Administrator.

Thanks Linq.

Just going through the reported posts here (moved on since).

Most are obviously ignorable (obviously attempts to reply to the thread) but some need to be chased just in case.

Perhaps someone has experienced this problem. I developed an Access 97 Runtime database on a Windows 98 SE machine. I have three reports that can be optionally copied to a floppy disk or hard drive through use of a macro: Output To, Report, the name of the Report, Rich Text Format, Output location and file name, and Auto Start - No. The process has worked flawlessly when running the macro on Windows 98 SE under Access 97 SR2b on the host...

Hello, I've custom-built a fairly extensive object model that is designed to run in the background and control the opening and closing of related forms. The whole thing kicks-off with an AutoExec macro at startup, using a RunCode action that calls a global function and the rest works great. Pretty good stuff - flies like an eagle, when it works.

Hi, There's an anoying problem with a project I built, where the reports have a message saying that the OpenReport Action failed. The reports open just fine on all machines, except for one. Could this be a corrupt Office installation or incompatible code? The versions of office are the same (2003). Also, the other machines on the office network is referencing to the project stored on the PC in question and therefor none of them open...

Our .Net installation project includes a custom action that is launched post install. When the msi is run from a desktop, all is fine. We tested an install doing an Active Directory push to client machines and it failed. The application installed but the custom action would not launch and the install hung. The only error message we could find in the Event Viewer was 'Fatal Error', nothing else. A customer of ours was able to...

Hi I have multiple .mde FE's linked to an .mdb BE. The FE is distributed with an Auto FE updater and as such all users are on the same version of the FE. However, one user is getting "Action Failed" when the FE starts up and runs AutoExec code. I have seen some threads say this could indicate corruption but no ohter users are experiencing this problem. In the past on a different db I had something similar and it was down to the...

Hi, I got a pass-through query (that takes about 15 mins to process) I would like to integrate variables to it. IE: something simple: Select EmplID from empl_Lst where empl_lst.timestamp between !! And !! Not sure how to do so (should it be a query in Access or a macro) The connection would be ODBC.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
