I'm having a horrible time simply inserting the date in a MySQL
database through a Visual Basic program. I have a table, called
"ORDERS"; "ID" is the primary key. I'm trying the insert the date,
into the MySQL database, which is a DATETIME datatype. I must keep it
DATETIME so it can be accessed via Microsoft Access.
Here are two versions of the program. The first one fails, with the
"Row cannot be located for updating. Some values may...

Hello
In order to perform a hetrogeneous join (I think that's what they're called)
between MySQL and another database, I've created an Access database
containing linked tables from each datasource.
I create the linked tables without any problems, clicking on "save password"
before selecting the desired tables. I can then access both tables fine from
within the Access GUI.

I am using Access 2K as a front end to MySQL running on a Linux server.
I am having trouble connectiong to the server. MySQL control centre connects
and I can connect using a DSN data source. But if I connect using the
following code
Dim constr As String
Dim tbl As DAO.TableDef
constr = "ODBC;DRIVER={MySQL ODBC 3.51 Driver};DESC=;USER=" & SQLServerUser

I want to use MS Accesss as a front end for an existing MySQL database.
Since Acceess doesn't have the same data types, eg. ENUM, am I tied to the
smaller subset of types supported by Access? I'm assuming I have to
duplicate the MySQL schema within Access then link the resulting tables.

All,
I have read through lots of postings regarding my concerns, but I
haven't found what I am looking for.
The center (non profit University) where I work collects scientific
data about subjects enrolled in studies related to respiratory
diseases. Both lab data and questionnaire information are collected.
We use W2K as PC operating systems, MS Access XP, XP Developer, and
Visual SourceSafe. Our databases use a front end – back end...

I have no experience using MS Access to interface with MySQL.
I have a tiny MySQL database that might need to have Access connect with it
over the internet and grab data/update etc.
Is this practical and what does it take to do it?
My project is not time sensitive but I'd like to see what methods I can use
to do remote queries with my database running on a *nix/Linux server.
Thanks

Hello,
Here's my problem. I cannot connect to mysql database using odbc string
connections or dns. I keep getting a "cannot connect to mysql server localhost." I'm running windows XP Pro and have installed IIS as my server. I have installed Mysql 5.0 and mysql ODBC driver 3.51.12 in their default locations. Database is up and running okay, as I've been able to create databases and tables and access

Hello,
I am trying to use a MS Access front end application to link to data
tables stored in MySQL Server. I am running MySQL 5.0 Community
Server, MySQL Connector/ODBC 3.51, and MS Access 2003. I have set up
a test database and table in MySQL, but the problem comes when trying
to link to this table through Access. From the Link Tables menu
option, I choose ODBC Databases, but no "Select Data Source" dialogue
window will pop up. All...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
