Access 2003 Report Group Levels

23 New Member
In Access 2003, I'm creating a dynamic report and am trying to place text boxes into group headers. One report will have 6 group levels. I can place controls in the first two group headers easily by using the acGroupLevel1/2Header option. How do I place in the other group headers? acGroupLevel3He ader doesn't appear to exist and manually typing it doesn't seem to work.

quoted from Allen Browne:

"From memory, you can create up to 10 group levels.
The lack of constants won't stop you.

In the code window, press F2 to open the Object browser.
Search for:
acGroupLevel2He ader
You see it is a memeber of acSection, which also contains:
acGroupLevel1He ader = 5
acGrouplevel1Fo oter = 6
acGroupLevel2He ader = 7
acGrouplevel2Fo oter = 8

Can you guess what numbers you might need to use for the 3rd header and
footer?

You could create your own constants if you wish:
Const acGroupLevel3He ader As Long = 9
Const acGrouplevel3Fo oter As Long = 10
and so on."

Helpful folks, Most of my previous experience with DB2 was on s390 mainframe systems and the optimizer on this platform always seemed very predictable and consistent. Since moving to a WinNT/UDB 7.2 environment, the choices the optimizer makes often seem flaky. But this last example really floored me. I was hoping someone could explain why I get worse response time when the optimizer uses two indexes, than when it uses one. Some context:

Hi, I've recently upgraded from Access 97 to Access 2002 & the performance basically stinks. I have tried the following items listed below but it has only had a minor impact: 1) Upgraded Jet 4 to Service Pack 7 2) Set Subdatasheet Name to from 3) Shortened the file name of the .MDB file 4) Made sure the Track name AutoCorrect info is off

tblCourses one to many to tblEvents. A course may have an intro workshop (a type of event), a mid course workshop, a final exam. Or any combination. Or something different in the future. At the moment the printed output is usually going to Word. It's turning into an unholy mess, because I'm having to prepare umpteen different Word templates, and the queries that drive them, depending on what events a course has.

I have a form with a subform that has a subform that has a subform that has a subform. The 5th embedded subform never opens in Access 97 and I get a message that 'a form has caused 1 error.' When I open the form in Access 2k, it's fine. The users are using Access 97. What do I have to do to get it to cooperate?? Thanks in advance, Laura

I've got a report that's not sorting correctly. I build a SQL statement and assign it to the recordsource in the Open event, sorting the data the way the user chooses. The user can choose up to 3 sorts using a form that opens before the report opens. When the report previews, it ignores the users' sort request and always sorts by the primary key even though ORDER BY is explicity set to another field other than primary key. If I copy...

Hey Guys, Today we are going to look at Code Access Security. Code access security is a feature of .NET that manages code depending on its trust level. If the CLS trusts the code enough to allow it ro run then it will execute, the code execution depends on the permission provided to the assembly. If the code is not trusted wnough to run or it attempts to perform an action which doe not have the required permissions then its execution...

I have a report in Access that has a lot of grouping (sometimes over 5 group headers). When I export it to Excel where more people can use it and are familiar it creates a lot of blank rows when there's nothing inside the group. Certain items in the report will have items in all 5 group headers/levels, most will not. I have a macro in Excel that deletes the blank rows but some reports are too long to export to Excel because of the blank rows....

Hi !! I'm about to develop a new project for a client. Should I go about it in Access 2003 or 2007 ? Purchasing it either for me or for my client is not a major consideration here ... what I'd like to know is the stability, speed & ease of use of both the products. I believe Access 2007 has a new file format too and that it may be slower.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
