Helpful folks,
Most of my previous experience with DB2 was on s390 mainframe systems
and the optimizer on this platform always seemed very predictable and
consistent. Since moving to a WinNT/UDB 7.2 environment, the choices
the optimizer makes often seem flaky. But this last example really
floored me. I was hoping someone could explain why I get worse
response time when the optimizer uses two indexes, than when it uses
one. Some context:

Hi,
I've recently upgraded from Access 97 to Access 2002 & the performance
basically stinks. I have tried the following items listed below but it
has only had a minor impact:
1) Upgraded Jet 4 to Service Pack 7
2) Set Subdatasheet Name to from
3) Shortened the file name of the .MDB file
4) Made sure the Track name AutoCorrect info is off

Hello,
I have a report with the Priority field is used as sort order and
grouping. The problem is the data in this Priority field if sorted in
ascending order is: High, Low, and Medium. How could I sort it as:
Low, Medium, High?
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated,

A course may have an intro workshop (a type of event), a mid course
workshop, a final exam. Or any combination. Or something different in the
future.
At the moment the printed output is usually going to Word. It's turning into
an unholy mess, because I'm having to prepare umpteen different Word
templates, and the queries that drive them, depending on what events a
course has.

I have a form with a subform that has a subform that has a subform that
has a subform. The 5th embedded subform never opens in Access 97 and I
get a message that 'a form has caused 1 error.' When I open the form in
Access 2k, it's fine. The users are using Access 97. What do I have
to do to get it to cooperate??

I've got a report that's not sorting correctly. I build a SQL
statement and assign it to the recordsource in the Open event, sorting
the data the way the user chooses. The user can choose up to 3 sorts
using a form that opens before the report opens.
When the report previews, it ignores the users' sort request and always
sorts by the primary key even though ORDER BY is explicity set to
another field other than primary key.

I have a report in Access that has a lot of grouping (sometimes over 5 group headers). When I export it to Excel where more people can use it and are familiar it creates a lot of blank rows when there's nothing inside the group. Certain items in the report will have items in all 5 group headers/levels, most will not. I have a macro in Excel that deletes the blank rows but some reports are too long to export to Excel because of the blank rows....

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
