I've developed a product pricing application for a client in AC2007.
They enter all the data on the one main form, then click a button to open a printable report in Print Preview.
My problem is, once in Print Preview, the Close Print Preview button on the ribbon doesn't work. It's there, it just does nothing when I click it. To close the report you have to press Ctrl+F4.
This is bad, but worse is I can't even put a message on the report telling the user to press Ctrl+F4, as they view it in Print Preview mode, so I can't have a label with Display When set to Screen Only, as they don't see that in Print Preview.
It's a very standard report, quite a few fields but no calculations involved, it gets all its data straight from a precalculated table. There's nothing I can think of that would be causing strange behaviour. I've got another report in the system, and that closes fine.
I get the same behaviour whether it's an accdb or accde.
Any ideas where I might start finding out what's causing this?

All I can suggest is to try to find somewhere that lists known bugs (features) of the new Acc2007 software.
Some MVPs publish lists as a feature on their sites. I'm afraid I can't think of anything more helpful.
Problem solved by copying everything to a new report. The usual answer to Access' flakiness!

Oh that one!
I should do an article on "How to Avoid Corruption with MS Access". A fairly short one - "Don't use it." :D
@NeoPa
This was not really funny or helpful. Just sayin'.

In code I am opening a report in deign view, adding code to the report to
output it to Word in an editable form. I then want t close the report but
not save the changes.
Is there any way or preventing the option to save changes from being
displayed (the answer is always no)
The "DoCmd.Close acReport, me.Name, acSaveNo" on the close event does not
work

Hi,
I am still a newbie to VB and using MS Access 2000. I am currently
trying to provide a preview of reports before printing them. My
program is simple:
AC.DoCmd.OpenReport "MyReport", acViewPreview
AC.Visible = True
AC.DoCmd.ShowToolbar "Print Preview", acToolbarNo
AC.DoCmd.ShowToolbar "Menu Bar", acToolbarNo

I'm totally stuck. When I click on the "Preview" button for a report
on the
database window, pressing the <ESCAPEkey simply closes the report.
But
when I use DoCmd.OpenReport with acPreview on a form, pressing the
<ESCAPEkey dumps the report into design mode.
To add one more quirk, creating a new form, and using the wizard to
create a Print Preview command button sets the report behavior back to
normal, by closing the report clean on...

Hello, I am developing a VB.NET 2003 application that will use lots of
Crystal Reports. Sometimes the users will preview a report in a
Crystal report viewer, and sometimes they will send the report directly
to the printer bypassing the Crystal report viewer altogether.
When sending the job directly to the printer I use the PrintToPrinter
command
CR.PrintToPrinter(1, False, 0, 0)

I've been having a click around Access 2007 this afternoon and have
discovered some things that range from annoying to alarming. My
Access 2003 menu bars, which I, like many others, use extensively, are
now hidden behind an "Add Ins" tab on the Ribbon. Hardly an intuitive
place for a user to find them. Unless my memory is failing me, I'm
sure that Access 2003 menus displayed normally in the 2007 Beta.
The other thing I've discovered...

I am stuck.
I have a report that I use in multiple places, so I call it with
varying parameters (using the Where Clause in the code).
I preview the report, send it to snap, then close the preview (the
user can go to the server to see the snap view). Print, snap, then
close is the only way I can snap with a Where clause.
If there is No data that meets the criteria, I can cancel the print,

While making Vouchers in a form, I have a POST button which validates
& posts the transaction to the main Accounts File.
I also have a PRINT button which provides the user with a preview of
the "to be printed" Voucher & then prints it onto paper.
When the user clicks PRINT ... my code validates the voucher & prints
it. Now I have to POST the transaction ... but how do I know if the
voucher has printed correctly ? i.e. no paper jam or...

Hi,
I'm having issues with AC2007 custom ribbons.
I'm building an AC2007 runtime app which has a custom ribbon (called CommandsDisabledHideRibbon) set as the default db ribbon name (see XML at end of post). The aim is to hide as much of the Access interface as possible.
CommandsDisabledHideRibbon ribbon XML (verified as well-formed by the Office 2007 Custom UI Editor):

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
