Exporting Access Tables to Comma-Delimited Text File

When I use the File -Export function in Access, all it seems to do
is duplicate the file. It doesn't seem to offer conversion to
delimited text files.

Can someone tell me how to do that kind of an export? Or does Access
call it something else?

Thanks, Scott

In the export dialog box you should be able to see a 'save as type'
select list. Choose the appropriate format in there. You can also
choose export by right clicking on the table you want to export.

Do you have to be in a particular mode in Access to do this? I just
opened up the app, opened the db of interest, and then I am presented
with the various tables which comprise the db. Is it from that place
that I can do what you are suggesting?

Yes

Highlight a table by clicking it. Go to the topmost menu Under "File" you
will find "Export". Click on it.
It will present you with a small panel with two bars in the bottom of the
window that let you establish the name to export it as and the second one
which defaults to Access but in which you can choose many formats. Click
the arrow head to see them. Scroll down to "Text" and select it. You will
get another panel that asks if you want it delimited, etc. Easy - But not
Obvious.

Regards

Kevin

Hello, I am new to this list and would appreciate some help with Access 2000 and Access 2003. I need to export our access database table statements by access database to place into our database model repository. We have several different relational databases, of which access is one, so we want to keep all of the SQL that creates tables in a single model repository. Is there some way within the access tool to export this information? I...

I'm having trouble with exporting reports to Word in the rtf format and I'm hoping someone has a solution. The reports are losing their formats. Not all the formating is lost but some is and of course it's the really important parts that are lost. In one report the grouping is lost and everything gets repeated. I've created several reports that pull data from various tables then they get exported to Word when they're run so the user can...

I've got my code working so that it'll count the number of columns in the table and move across (eg Range A-P and then range Q-W). Problem is when I get to the end of the single letters and get into AA etc. Have got an idea of how I could do it by using Chr() and having an ongoing counter which is divided by 26 when it goes past Z to work out location. However, I'd dearly like there to be an easier way. Any ideas? Another problem I'm...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
