Hello,
My VB application read and writes data from and to a MS Excel workbook,
using the Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0 provider. I have installed the MS ActiveX
Data Object 2.0 Library on my computer and everything works fine.
I have created a setup using the Package & Deployment Wizard. I thought,
let's make the setup a bit more up-to-date, so I included the mdac_type.exe
version 2.7.

I am absolutely bewildered by now by the Microsoft.Samples SSPI and Security
assemblies. I've been trying to set these up in a very straightforward
harness in the way that I'd like to be able to use them. No IIS. Use TCP,
binary. Standard server example with a console host and console client. .NET
1.1, windows XP. (I tried posting to the remoting newsgroup, no answers in
the last couple days, trying here in hopes that more people watch this...

Hi,
I can use System.Runtime.InteropServices.RuntimeEnvironment.GetRuntimeDirectory()
to obtain the path for ILASM.exe, but how can I obtain the path to
ILDASM.exe?
Examples of the path I'm looking for are:
VSNET 2002 - "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
..NET\FrameworkSDK\Bin"
VSNET 2003 - "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio .NET

Hello,
We have developed a socket tcpip server in .net that accepts calls from
clients. Using the connected socket we are able to use the
Socket.RemoteEndPoint to obtain the IP address of the client. Is there any
way to obtain the MAC address for the client?
Thanks
Jeronimo

The application uses a mdb file and needs Microsoft Jet OLE DB Provider to
run on another PCs.
In Prerequisites section of Setup Property Pages there are some checkboxes
including
Microsoft Data Access Component 2.8.
But in microsoft site they say:
This release does not include Microsoft Jet, the Microsoft Jet OLE DB
Provider or ODBC driver, the Desktop Database ODBC Drivers, or the...

Discovered this interesting comment on MSDN:
"To programmatically obtain the hard disk's serial number that the
manufacturer assigns, use the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI)
Win32_PhysicalMedia (a class) property SerialNumber."
I'm sorry to admit it bit I am really undereducated on how to
incorporate some of the Windows SDK stuff into VBA apps. Anyone know
of some sample code that will allow us to read the C drive hardware...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
