Access SQL Query: Get complete row for 3 distinct values

1 New Member
HI,
I would like to get the contents of the whole row for 3 fields in the table which are distinct. I can do this for one field but I cant figure out how to do it for 3 distinct fields.
eg. I want to get the complete row for a table which has distinct fname, lname and agency.
Thank you in advance.

I'm trying to create a query that will tell me which requests took longer than 10 days to move one from particular state to another state. The query I've created returns the correct requests, but not always the correct 'NextActionDate'/'NextStatus'/'NextState'. I'm sure I'm missing something easy, but I can't figure out what it might be. Any help is appreciated! Thanks, Myron -- remove SPAM-KILL from address to reply by email --

Helpful folks, Most of my previous experience with DB2 was on s390 mainframe systems and the optimizer on this platform always seemed very predictable and consistent. Since moving to a WinNT/UDB 7.2 environment, the choices the optimizer makes often seem flaky. But this last example really floored me. I was hoping someone could explain why I get worse response time when the optimizer uses two indexes, than when it uses one. Some context:

Hi all, Does anyone have any bright ideas for Access' tendency to add square brackets when it parses queries, then tell you that the query syntax is invalid. In my case, I'm trying to do a LEFT JOIN on a subquery, like so: SELECT DISTINCT . FROM LEFT JOIN (SELECT FROM targetMarkers WHERE targetID = Forms!frmTargetDetails ) as TM ON . = targetMarkers. WHERE (((targetMarkers.) Is Null));

I have a SQL query I need to design to select name and email addresses for policies that are due and not renewed in a given time period. The problem is, the database keeps the information for every renewal in the history of the policyholder. The information is in 2 tables, policy and customer, which share the custid data. The polno changes with every renewal Renewals in 2004 would be D, 2005 S, and 2006 L. polexpdates for a given customer...

I'm struggling to find the best query from performance point of view and readability for a normalized DB design. To illustrate better my question on whether normalized designs lead to more complex queries yes or no, I have prepared an example. The example is a database with the following tables: *table person with fields: -persid: autoincrement id -name: name of the person *table material with fields: -materialid: autoincrement id

To view Access queries in SQL rather than Access query design - open the query design window and change the view to SQL: Select Statement SELECT FROM ; Append Statement INSERT INTO (, , ) VALUES ('value1', #value2#, value3); This assumes value1 is a string, value2 is a date and value 3 is some other datatype

Hello good people, Please bear with me as this is my first post and I am relative new to ASP. I do have VB6 experience. I have a form which enables users within our company to do an intranet reservation of available resources (laptops, beamers, etc). The MySql database queries are already in place, as is the ASP administration panel. The frontend that users will see however, still needs some work. I'm really close, but since I'm no...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
