I came across this line in a lib I am studing, it simply has
class cSceneNode;
all by itself. what is that line doing? I am used to seeing a
declaration: MyClass test;
or definition: class MyClass{ public: foo();};
but never just: class <name>;
Thanx,
Christopher

I'm getting the error: "Cannot implicitly convert type
'MovesDBMigrate.MotionNameElementTypes' to 'int'"
for this line of code:
m_nameElementTableNames =
"Tbl_NameCharacters";
Of course if I cast int to it, then it compiles, but if I have declared the
enum's type as int, why do I need to cast int to the value?

I got this as soon as I installed Vis Studio 2003, which either
requires different permissions to inetpub\wwwroot or changed them
during installation.
I couldn't open an existing solution or create a new one. Very
frustrating.
The solution (for me, anyway) was to change the permissions to the
inetpub\wwwroot folder. I needed these permissions:

I'm having trouble accessing my database
(error: The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'.
It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to

I know that I need to give the IUSR_<Machine Name> access to my database,
but when I right click my database (or folder the db resides in) and select
properties, I do NOT get a security tab where I can give other accounts

Hi,
My project writes records to a new SQL Server 2005 database with
currently 18 tables. When I change the Database Diagram for my
database I save the copy the list of changed tables to a notepad text
file; then one at a time I delete the changed tables from my DBML
Diagram and drag a replacement from the Server Explorer Table list. Is
there a better way to keep the Database Diagram and DBML Diagram in
sync? I would rather not...

I got an exception when executing the SQL statement in my code below.
The error is "Invalid object name
'db_dynamic_trading.dbo.TrdRpt_broker_list'".
I know for a fact that 'db_dynamic_trading.dbo.TrdRpt_broker_list' is
valid, because I can run the same SQL statement in Management Studio
and it works.
Any advice on this? Is there anything wrong with my connection string
(although there is no complaint about the connection string in my

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
