Convert a field, Join 2 tables and find unmatched, all in one query

77 New Member
Please Help....

I have a query with 2 tables, LegalFile and Cases.
LegalFile has the field CaseID(Number Field) and Cases has CaseNbr(Text Field).
I am trying to find entries that are in Legalfile but not in Cases.
In order to club the conversion and join in one query I has the criteria for LegalFile.CaseI D set to Int([CaseNbr]). With this setup if I run the query it gives me all entries that are common in LegalFile and Cases.
I tried setting Cases.caseNbr criteria to Is Null to get all records that are in LegalFile but not in Cases, that gave an error saying 'Type Mismatch'.
So is it possible to do all this in one query,

Convert a Field, Join two tables and Find Unmatched?

Please help...

Thanks in advance

Do the conversion in a subquery in the FROM clause. Then the rest is your standard find unmatched query.

I need to run a query based on a query in Access. The second query has a number of conditions which all work well, but there is one more contition I need to set to make it run properly. the first query returns a number of data items, consisting, among other fields, of a Company_ID and a Rating_Date. For most companies, the latest value of Rating_Date is equal to a value in a seperate table (tblVariables) which logs the last time a...

Using an outer join, a query can return all records from Table1 and only those matching from Table2 (or vice versa). How can I write a query that will return unmatched records from both sides? For example: Table1 Key Data ---------- 123 Bill 124 Tom 125 Joe

I have an Access db with several ODBC linked ORACLE tables. These tables have multiple-field PK's. The tables work just fine in many diff types of queries including unmatched queries that are created manually without using the UMQ Wizard. The problem/question, however, involves using these tables in an UMQ Wizard. At the point in the wizard where it asks for "What piece of information is in both tables?" and it lists the fields from the 2...

I have a MAIN database and a Detail database. They are linked by ID field. I have a case number in both databases and I want to be able to enter the case number in the MAIN database and when I create a new record I want it to automatically show up in the Detail database case number field. I have gone in and linked the two case number fields in the relationship boxes, but it still won't update in the Detail DB. What do I need to do?

I need to convert a 17mb access 2000 db to Oracle and house it in a Citrix farm. The issue: we have never converted an Access Db to Oracle but can probably use Oracle's Workbench to assist with this. Also - the citrix folks do not want us to keep the FE in Access as the queries and other activities consume a lot of power. The users will be in 3 different offices across the globe all accessing the 1 Oracle DB in Citrix. Does anyone have...

This is driving me crazy - my unmatched query wizard will not display field names for any tables I choose. All my other query wizards work properly. I am running Access 2003. I have tried using both 2003 and 2000 formats. It's not my access databases because the wizard works correctly over the network using other people's Access software. It is with every Access mdb database I have tried. I have checked every setting imaginable but...

I would like to know if the following is possible I want to do 2 things in the same Query, ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
