Splitting Date Range Records in Access

2 New Member
I have a table with records that I want to split up based on a start and end date. I am new MS Access and VB and would appreciate an example of some code that could be used to do this ?, even through Excel would be fine

Example :

Leave Record Table

Employee Start_Date End_Date Units Taken
001 2007/10/01 2007/10/03 3
002 2007/10/02 2007/10/04 2

Split into a New Table

Employee Date
001 2007/10/01
001 2007/10/02
001 2007/10/03
002 2007/10/02
002 2007/10/03
002 2007/10/04

Why do you need the data represented this way?

The reason for splitting the records.

I want to match off information obtained from a access control system.

The access control system data

Employee Access Date
001 2007/10/01
001 2007/10/02
001 2007/10/03

Using a query i can then check to see if the records match. If there is is way to create a query to do this, it would also solve my problem

Query's possible. But it'd be convoluted and difficult. I think it'd be easiest to do it through VBA. But that's slow if you have a lot of records.

I need to write a report in which one part shows a count of how many total records fall within the working days (Monday - Friday) inside of a (prompted) given date range, in a particular geographical region. I have written a query which prompts the user for the start and end dates. It also filters for entries which pertain to the particular geographical region. I'm not sure where to go from here.

I'm trying to filter a table that has 2 date fields, the first date will always have a value but the second will only occasionally has a value. Each date field also has a corresponding text field to record the record's status. Sample data: *tblTest* Model Parts CDate CStatus RDate RStatus 616 $359.79 03-Nov-03 C

I have a query set up to gather together data between two specified dates. Shown in the query column as: Between #24/09/2004# And #01/10/2004# Is it possible to enter several different date ranges, ie between 24/09/2004 and 01/10/2004 together with 05/10/2004 and 07/10/2004 ? If I enter the "Between" criteria on different lines it returns no data.

Help! I am calculating a future date using the DateAdd function in a query (the calculation also involves an IIf statement), and have managed to get this formula to produce the required result. I then want to search through the records and select those with dates (as caluclated above) within a user defined range, and so I am using a parameter query. However, this query returns dates outside of the range and appears to have particular...

Hello all I'm going to try and be brief with my question, please tell me if I have the wrong group. We are querying transaction data from a DB3 database application. The dates are stored as text fields. Each date for example 10/31/03 or October 31st 2003 is stored as 10/31/A3 in the system. My reasoning for this is because they couldn't solve their Y2K problem or this is their solution to it. All dates prior to 2000 are stored...

I want to be able to program Access to provide for me, by individual day, what my contract obligations are to my customers. Will Access recognize all the individual days in between a date range (simply a "from" date and a "to" date)? Additionally, I need to delivery a specific quantity of product when the customer's inventory is within about parameter levels. EXAMPLE: "During the Date Range January 1, 2010 through April 30, 2010 when...

I am using MS Access 2007 I have a transaction table which holds all records with posting date on each of them. I used a make table query to find out the max date hold in the transaction table and use the dateAdd function to find the date with 1 month, 5 months and 6 months ago and export it into a table name TRSMPD that only have one record. I then use the TRSMPD table to query the transaction table to find the records that has dates greater...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
