Is there a way to do this? This is for my own benefit while developing in Access, not for the users.
Used to be that you could change UTILITY.MDA in Access 2.0 but I can't find the equivalent for Access 2000-2003.
Thanks in advance,
Bill

In ACC2003, when you "zoom" a box, in the lower right hand corner of the zoombox, under the Okay and Cancel buttons there's one marked Fonts...
You can use it to set the font type/size for the zoomboxes, and the value will hold for that particular session of Access, which should do for your stated purposes. I think Utility.MDA was phased out after Access 7.0 which, coincidentally, was the year they finally got some of the bugs worked out!

Thanks for your reply. I knew about the Fonts button, but honestly it does not serve my purpose precisely for the reason you stated - it only holds for the current session of Access. That's why I asked the question. During the course of a day I might close and re-open an Access file a dozen times, and I'd like to have a font & size that "sticks". Maybe I'm a little bit older than your typical forum user, but for me Tahoma 8 is hard to read (Segue in 2007 is even worse). Windows itself has accessibility features but Office does not. A couple of years back Ken Getz had published unlocked versions of the Access 97 add-ins, I was hoping to find something like that for modern Access. I started by searching on this site for "Access zoom box default font" but it came up empty; Google searches were mostly irrelevant except for the Access 2.0 mention.
I suppose I could create my own library file with a customizable zoom box, add a reference to that, and use an AutoKeys macro to trap Shift-F2 to display my custom zoom box, but why reinvent the wheel if somebody else has already done that?

Hi Bill
It looks like the Utility.mda file is still present at least up to Access 2003.
I found this piece of code posted by Stephen Lebens on another site.
Set a Reference to the Utility.MDA, setup an AutoKeys Macro Group, with a Macro named "+{F2}", an Action of RunCode, a Function name of "MyZoom".
The function below requires error code/logic to handle when the AutoKeys Macro is called without a valid current Form and/or a valid current Control.
Add the following code to a standard Code module: -
Public Function MyZoom()
-
-
utility.zoom_iFontSize = 24
-
-
Call Application.Run("UTILITY.BuilderZoom", _
-
Application.Screen.ActiveForm.Name, Application.Screen.ActiveControl.Name, _
-
Application.Screen.ActiveControl.Value)
-
-
End Function

Hello,
I am trying to figure out how to change the default font-family and
font-size. I tried adding this to the BODY section, but it didn't work. I
tried to the P section, but they are not enclosed in <P> tags. They are just
basic fonts.
Can anyone help? Thanks!

for example). This works for every control I have seen except the column

to no avail. In IE7 it shows up as Medium. What did I do wrong?
Thanks.

Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
