Set the default value of the control to:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. "A" & Right("0000" & Val(Right(DMax("[ID Field]", "TableName"), 4)), 4)
  2.
Just lock the field so they can't edit it.

Is it a good idea to programatically create a primary key? For example in a table called names, I have the following fields, (1) firstname (2)lastname (3) ID - will it be ok to create a primary key using for example the first 2 letters of the first name and the last 2 letters of the last name AFTER the user enters the first and last names into a form? Maybe have an invisible field on the form called ID that is linked to the id field in...

A KB article "http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;209599" tells that the maximum number of records that a table may hold if the PRIMARY key data type is set to AUTONUMBER is 4,294,967,295. Suppose the PRIMARY key data type is set to "RANDOM" AutoNumber. Suppose an application (a) successfully INSERTS "X" records, then (b) successfully DELETES "Y" records (X >= Y), then

I had create a query by making relation to a table & query, but I can't update record in query or in form. I believe the problem is due to the source query. In source query, there is a filter to show the incomplete record ("is null" in delivery date)], but I need to re-use the job no. if the job is...

I am attempting to create a module that I can call to create a new field in my temp table that will be an autonumber, and then assigned that new field as the primary key. I have been search high and low for the code, it seems like an easy task but haven't solved the problem yet. Here is the current scenario: I import an text file of numbers, once imported, I need to assign a unique (autonumber) value to each number imported, starting with 1...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
